Market Systems Assessment in Northern Nigeria with Propcom+

DevLearn undertook qualitative interviews and secondary data collection, using four in-country team members, to understand key constraints in each market, analyse the eco-system actors, and inform Propcom+’s interventions.

Propcom+ is a new, seven-year (2023-2030), rural and agricultural market development programme supporting climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture and forestry that benefits people, climate, and nature.

DevLearn is conducting a market assessment to inform Propcom+’s initial portfolio of interventions. The market assessment focused on a variety of sectors, ranging from cookstoves to animal health. We worked with four local researchers to conduct qualitative information from key market actors, collect and analyse secondary data, and work with the DevLearn team and Propcom+ to understand the implications for the initial interventions.
