Outcome scanning for British International Investment

Our team leads the implementation of Outcome Scanning across three technical assistance projects managed by BII Plus. Outcome Scanning, a variant of Outcome Harvesting, is used to uncover both expected and unexpected outcomes emerging from BII’s market-shaping work in fragile contexts.

We designed the methodology, conducted primary research, analysed results, and produced a comprehensive outcomes report. Following a successful initial harvest, BII extended the contract by two years, requesting ongoing support with quality assurance and analysis of outcomes captured through the six-monthly reporting cycle.

Key activities include:
• Identifying, substantiating, and analysing outcomes from two multi-year programmes.
• Facilitating learning sessions with BII teams and partners.
• Developing systems and guidance for periodic outcome scanning.
• Supporting regular outcome calls, substantiation, and reporting in collaboration with BII Plus and its implementation partners.
